VOICES FROM THE WATERFRONT ORAL HISTORY PROJECT

Voices from the Waterfront is a new National Trust project funded through a $10,000 grant from the Victorian State Government's Local History Grants Program.

The project aims to record the history and culture of Melbourne’s ports and merchant navies to provide both a valuable community resource and material for displays in the exhibition spaces of the new the Polly Woodside visitor centre. It will record on video the past experiences, memories and anecdotes of seafarers, port officials, dock workers, unionists, residents and their families.
